Specializing in the development of software solutions for home care and community health services management, AlayaCare offers a complete cloud-based platform that integrates planning, intervention monitoring and human resources management tools, as well as artificial intelligence modules to improve the quality and efficiency of home care services. In addition to supporting health care professionals, the technology platform promotes personal autonomy and optimizes care management. With the support of La Caisse, the company continues to realize its growth ambitions on the international scene.

In 2014, entrepreneur Adrian Schauer saw a major new challenge: to revolutionize the home health care sector through digital transformation. Drawing on his experience, he invested the necessary capital and, with the help of experts in Montréal, designed an innovative, high-performance cloud-based solution to modernize health care provided in the home.

The platform quickly won over the country’s provincial public health systems and insurers, who integrated it into their practices, supporting the company’s organic growth. At the same time, AlayaCare teamed up with external partners, including La Caisse starting in 2019. Thanks to these strategic investments, the company is accelerating its growth, notably with the acquisition of Procura for USD 37 million, a milestone in its development.

Today, the company employs over 550 people in nine offices across Canada, the United States and Australia. In addition to contributing to more than 70% of home health care in Canada, the company serves more than two million patients worldwide.

AlayaCare

An evolving platform

The AlayaCare platform is constantly evolving, offering a high-performance solution driven by applied research and innovation. Its research team, Lab AI, works with MILA – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, to design and deploy cutting-edge functionalities that are gradually integrated into the product. These technological advances include optimizing schedules, improving travel management and personalizing the services offered, thus contributing to the performance and agility of the home-care sector.

“Québec’s technology ecosystem has only needed around 10 years to make up for lost time and reach a world-class level of expertise. La Caisse has played a decisive role in supporting the venture capital and innovation community.”
- Adrian Schauer, President and CEO, AlayaCare

AlayaCare

Strong partner, sustained growth

By joining forces with AlayaCare, La Caisse is playing a key role in enhancing the company’s value, both through its capital contribution and its strategic impact on the Board of Directors. Over and above the investment, this collaboration indirectly contributes to improving collective well-being by supporting the transformation of home care, a sector that is set to grow considerably as the population ages. The technological solutions developed by AlayaCare provide caregivers with adapted, high-performance tools to meet the diverse needs of the elderly and their families. And for Adrian, making it possible for people to age in their home is at the heart of AlayaCare’s mission.
