Audit Committee
OVERVIEW
This Committee examines any activity that may adversely affect the Caisse’s sound financial position. It notifies the Board in writing of any management operation or practice that is unsound or does not comply with the laws, policies and regulations governing the Caisse’s operations.
Mandate
Ensure that the financial statements accurately reflect the Caisse’s financial position and recommend that the Board approve them.
Ensure that internal control mechanisms are sufficient and effective.
Ensure that the approach to the optimal use of resources has been implemented and perform a follow-up of the approach.
See to it that a risk management process applies to the Caisse’s activities.
Appoint the Vice-President, Internal Audit of the Caisse and approve the audit plan.
Make sure that the organizational structure provides the internal audit team the independence required to efficiently fulfill its role.
