The Caisse, a Worldwide Reference
A Renowned Institution Both Here and Abroad
Well rooted in Québec, the Caisse is also among the world’s large international investors as a result of:
- Its extensive investment experience and sound business practices;
- Its network of partners which gives it access to major business opportunities;
- Its leadership role in the field of socially responsible investments;
- Its contribution to discussions on economic and financial issues and changes affecting the investment management profession;
- Its ability to bring together the largest institutional and pension fund managers;
- The opportunity it offers its Québec partners to participate in transactions which would otherwise be inaccessible to them.
WIDELY-ACCEPTED PRACTICES
Over the years, the Caisse has become a benchmark organization as a result of the rules it has adopted with regard to governance, business practices and a framework for its processes. It is visited on a regular basis by representatives of Canadian and international fund managers, merchant banks and major corporations who wish to discuss the practices used within their organizations.
The Caisse’s teams, for their part, are constantly on the look-out for innovations and trends in their different professions so as to maintain their high level of expertise. Their specialists are often invited to speak at major national and international events.
The Caisse also brings large Canadian and international reserve fund managers together in Montréal on various occasions.
PARTNERS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD
The Caisse has been in existence for over 40 years. As a result of its portfolio diversification approach, it has entered into numerous parterships in Québec, Canada and abroad.
Today, the Caisse benefits from an extensive business network and can rely on the solid collaboration of a large number of companies and fund managers. It is frequently invited to take part in large-scale investment projects, particularly in the infrastructures and real estate sectors.

A PLAYER ON THE INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL SCENE
The Caisse also exercises its leadership in the financial community by actively participating in discussions on global issues and the financial and economic challenges facing modern societies.
For instance, the Caisse sponsors The International Economic Forum of the Americas/Conference of Montréal, which is aimed primarily at facilitating the exchange of information and encouraging open discussion on today’s major economic issues. In addition, the Caisse generally sends a representative to the World Economic Forum Meeting in Davos. Each year, this activity unites the leading decision-makers from the private and public sectors to discuss the main political, economic and social issues facing the world.
The Caisse also plays an active role in several investment management associations. It participated, for example, in the creation of the Cercle finance et placement du Québec and is a founding member of the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC).
It recently became a founding member of the International Centre for Pension Management (ICPM), a group devoted to research, mainly in pension fund management.
The Caisse invites several large pension and reserve fund managers to take part in meetings it organizes in Montréal.
The Caisse participates each year in the Entretiens Jacques Cartier, designed by the Centre Jacques Cartier to foster an environment for reflection and discussion between the scientific, political, economic, cultural and university communities in France and Québec.
