Fixed income securities include short-term securities such as Treasury bills, a wide variety of medium- to long-term bonds, and mortgage-backed securities. Less risky than equities, fixed income investments offer relatively stable returns and protect capital.
As at December 31, 2011, the Fixed Income class consisted of four specialized portfolios with a total of $58.8 billion in net assets.
