The Caisse invests in two types of financing products in partnership with other financial institutions.

Caisse – Desjardins partnership

The Caisse has partnered with Desjardins Group and Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins to meet the financing needs of successful small businesses across Québec. The fonds Capital croissance PME consists of $200 million, which is put towards the financing of corporate development or transfer of ownership of Québec companies valued at up to $3 million, through subordinated loans.

Venture capital funds: promoting innovation, start-up and development

The Caisse invests in venture capital funds in Québec and abroad that finance projects for promising businesses in the early stages of their development. In 2009, the Caisse, Fonds de solidarité FTQ, and Investissement Québec created Teralys Capital. With capital commitments totaling $700 million to date, of which $250 million has come from the Caisse, Teralys Capital invests in private venture capital funds that support technology companies, notably in the life sciences, information technology and cleantech sectors. A number of entrepreneurial companies have already benefited from Teralys funds, which include:

• Georgian Partners

Since 2004, we have invested more than $500 million in venture capital funds to stimulate venture capital investments in Québec and help new high-technology companies progress.

The partnership approach taken by the Caisse has contributed to the creation and maintenance of a number of Québec venture capital funds and has drawn foreign funds to Québec that specialize in this type of investment. Examples include:
