Ethics and Code of Conduct
Adhering to Outstanding Rules of Professional Conduct
All the members of the Caisse’s Board of Directors as well as its officers and employees are obliged to respect rigourous rules in terms of ethics and professional conduct. A document entitled "Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct" describes the appropriate behaviour with respect to business practices, relationships between colleagues, with clients, partners, suppliers and within the community. It complements the Act, policies and regulations applicable to the Caisse.
Two codes are in effect:
1. Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Directors (PDF)
Adopted by the members of the Board of Directors, the code outlines the rules relating to directors’ integrity, objectivity and transparency in the exercise of their duties.
2. Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Officers and Employees (PDF)
Describes the standards governing the business relationships between employees and suppliers or partners. Deals in particular with the issue of conflicts of interest.
ANNUAL COMMITMENT
Each year, directors, officers and employees must certify in writing that they adhere to the code which applies to them and governs their behaviour in situations with an ethical or professional conduct dimension.
They are also obliged to report any anomaly or deviation from the code. The Caisse therefore provides them with different means, including an ethics telephone line which is managed by KPMG.
