Profile
Normand Provost has been Executive Vice-President, Private Equity, since October 2003. In this capacity, he oversees the various teams of professionals specializing in equity investments and investment funds designed to support the long-term growth of companies. He supervises investment strategy development and portfolio management and growth. He also coordinates the Caisse's network of local and international partners.
Since September 2009, backed by his extensive knowledge of the Québec business community, Mr. Provost has assumed the leadership of all of the Caisse's initiatives in Québec. He heads the steering committee in charge of these endeavours and supervises the team responsible for business development in the province. He is also the Caisse's lead representative in its various activities throughout Québec.
Mr. Provost is a member of the Caisse's Executive Committee.
Background
Mr. Provost brings 35 years of industry experience to the table, including more than 30 with the Caisse, where he created the Private Equity and Investments and Infrastructures portfolios, built the Private Equity team and developed its investment business model, based on teamwork, partnerships, performance and added value. His list of professional achievements shows impressive results at all phases of the private equity market cycle, which he has seen run its full course three times during his career.
Mr. Provost originally joined the Caisse in 1980 and has held several positions within the institution, ranging from Advisor and Investment Manager, specializing in midsize businesses, to President of the subsidiary CDP Capital – Americas, from 1995 to 2003. During his time with the Caisse, he has touched on every aspect of corporate financing and brought hundreds of transactions to fruition.
In addition to his responsibilities in the investment sector, Mr. Provost served as Chief Operating Officer from April 2009 to March 2012. He utilized his long, rich experience at the Caisse to usher in a more client-centric approach and enhance the agility and efficiency of the teams responsible for operations and information technology.

Mr. Provost has been actively involved with a number of organizations, groups and networks throughout his career. He is regularly invited to attend and speak at a wide range of events and conferences hosted by local chambers of commerce, global venture capital associations, business leaders' groups and university recruitment programs.
