The AMF must maintain a deposit insurance fund to carry out its obligation to guarantee and exercise its special powers. The premiums collected are charged to this fund as well as the amounts into which the Minister of Finance could pay. In the case of insufficient financial resources, the Minister of Finance could make advances himself to this combined income fund or even guarantee the payment of committments of the AMF. On February 1, 2004, the Régie de l'assurance-dépôts du Québec was absorbed by the AMF. - Fonds pour l'éducation et la saine gouvernance (education and sound governance fund)
